- The spiral approach to the teaching of Geography is continued here with 17 chapters devoted to a wide range of topics treated in Book 2. Topics dealt with in-depth are the community we live in, clothes, water, rain, crops, tourism and communications. The pupils are introduced to the counties of Ireland as well as seeing Ireland’s place in terms of the earth’s size.
This Geography Quest series complements the History Quest series and the Science Quest series to provide a comprehensive programme of S.E.S.E. activities for children.
The series meets the emerging needs of pupils and teachers by identifying the Strand Units/Objectives on the first page of each unit. Suggested integration with other subjects of the curriculum are given at the end of each unit. The authors are aware of the importance of language development in the revised curriculum. Consequently, new terms and geographical vocabulary that children will encounter are identified throughout the series and are highlighted in the Key Vocabulary section of each unit.
